Cotswold Shepherd ramble - Ilmington - 12th April 2009
We walked under an overcast sky but it was no less enjoyable for that. Plenty of mud was washed out of beardie coats after the walk! The customers at the Red Lion were somewhat bemused by so many beardies descending en masse. Thankyou, Julia, for leading the ramble, and thanks also to the good people of Ilmington whose Sunday morning peace we may have shattered.

Peak Weekend - Errwood Ramble - 20th June 2009
A small but very select band of branch members set out on this showery morning to walk a 4½ mile circuit in the Goyt Valley. Despite the rain, both walkers and beardies enjoyed the beautiful moorland, woodland and river scenery with curlews much in evidence at close quarters on the wilder slopes. And, what joy, there was an ice-cream van strategically positioned back at the car-park!.

Peak Weekend - Millers Dale Ramble - 20th June 2009
The cloudy, damp weather of the morning ramble gave way to a gorgeous summer's evening, which showed off the lush greens of Millers Dale and Litton Dale and reflections off the water from this wonderful stretch of the River Wye to the best advantage. Our beardies enjoyed the clear stream water en route, whilst some of us elected to sample our own favourite tipples at the 'Angler's Rest'! All photos from this ramble were submitted by Rachel White to whom we are very grateful.

Peak Weekend - Cheedale Ramble - 21st June 2009
For the second day of the weekend, only a handful of lucky members turned up for today's spectacularly beautiful ramble through Cheedale. The going in places was extremely muddy and slippery on smooth, wet limestone, but everyone enjoyed this most scenic of Peakland walks. Unlike yesterday's morning ramble, the sun shone for the greater part of the route making for some lovely vistas from the more elevated sections. The beardies had a great time - plenty of splashing around in the crystal-clear river to wash out the mud from time to time. Pure magic!

Malvern Ramble - 27th September 2009
Our fourth annual Malvern ramble took place on another dry Autumn day and for the first time ended up not at the previously used cafe but in the garden of a nice little pub in Upper Colwall. Twenty-six members and friends turned up for the event and many re-convened at the Chase Inn to take refreshment afterwards. Pat Wincott supplied the following photographs.

Kingsbury Ramble - 18th October 2009
A new venue for a ramble, bang in the centre of our branch area. Fifteen members turned up for a gorgeously sunny October walk embracing canal, water-park lakes and trails and beautiful autumnal colours. The canal-side 'Dog and Doublet' pub proved an attractive finishing point for lunch and drinks. Many thanks to Barbara Smith who planned and led the walk. AJ and Rachel kindly submitted these photographs.
